Pay cut for next Dutch central bank chief

The next governor of the Netherlands Bank is to be paid almost a quarter less than his predecessor.

In a letter sent to the Dutch Parliament on Monday, finance minister Jan Kees de Jager has confirmed a 23% pay reduction for the next governor of the Netherlands Bank.

The successor to central bank president Nout Wellink, when his term ends in July, will earn get €315,000 ($447,492), down from Wellink's current salary of €406,650.
