Hanoi to ban trade of gold bars


The State Bank of Vietnam on Friday said the country's government intends to ban the free trade of gold bars on the open market.

The central bank said on Friday that Hanoi would issue a decree in the second quarter of the year barring the trade of gold in the free market, which would stop the metal being smuggled into the country.
