Gbagbo says he has taken control of central bank offices

Some of the Ivorian offices of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) have been seized by the country's former President Laurent Gbagbo, his camp claimed on Tuesday, days after the central bank relinquished his powers.

"The national leadership and the officials of the BCEAO throughout the country and Ivorian personnel working for the BCEAO are requisitioned from 25 January to ensure normal operations continue," the Wall Street Journal reported Gbagbo's people as saying in a statement
