WikiLeak sparks King quit calls from Blanchflower

Former Bank of England rate-setter David Blanchflower on Wednesday called for the resignation of Mervyn King, the governor of the central bank, accusing him of having sacrificed the Bank's political impartiality after fresh revelations emerged over the governor's role in Britain's fiscal retrenchment.

Blanchflower, who was a member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) from June 2006 to May 2009, told BBC Radio 4, a broadcaster: "Unfortunately, his thirst for power has clouded his judgment one
