Norwegian banks will meet Basel III ahead of schedule: Gjedrem

Most of Norway's banks will have sufficient capital to meet Basel III capital requirements ahead of the proposed timeline, Svein Gjedrem, the governor of the Norges Bank, said on Tuesday.

At the Financial Stability Report press conference, Gjedrem said: "The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has provided banks with a long transition period for introducing the new capital and liquidity requirements.
