Argentina may raise deposit ratio in latest attempt to curb money growth: reports

Mercedes Marco del Pont, the governor of the Central Bank of Argentina, is reportedly considering raising the deposit ratio in a fresh bid to subdue price pressures.

La Nacion, a local newspaper, reported that Marco del Pont was considering raising the deposit ratio for savings and checking accounts by ten percentage points, but that other members of the central bank's board were opposed to the plan.

The deposit ratio for savings and checking accounts is already 19%.
