Venezuela drawn into Securency scandal: report


The Central Bank of Venezuela was on Wednesday alleged to have been courted by Securency, a Reserve Bank of Australia offshoot that is under investigation on bribery and corruption charges concerning its dealings with foreign governments and central banks.

The firm produces the polymer substrate used in banknote manufacture.

The Age, a Melbourne-based newspaper, alleged that the company paid for Vietnamese government officials to travel to Mexico in order to convince officials at the Venezuelan
