SNB’s Danthine denies franc float claims

Jean-Pierre Danthine, a governing board member of the Swiss National Bank, rejected claims that remarks he made on Thursday hinted at a shift in central bank policy away from intervening to weaken the franc.

Switzerland's currency hit a 10-year high against the euro, rising 0.5% to peak at Swfr 1.4328 against the euro.

The spike came after Danthine said on Thursday: "Swiss firms and consumers should prepare for rising borrowing costs and exchange rates set freely by the market." The remarks were
