Argentine Senate set to reject governor


Mercédes Marco del Pont, the governor of the Central Bank of Argentina, could be dismissed after just months in charge after a Senate committee voted to block her appointment.

The committee, composed largely of opposition lawmakers, on Wednesday night voted against the appointment of the governor, a supporter of President Cristina Fernández.
