Frontrunner Blejer: deputy should take over

Mario Blejer, a former governor of the Central Bank of Argentina who is many observers' favourite to head the institution once again, told CentralBanking.com on Monday that he was not in favour of a snap transition.

"I believe that it is prudent and advisable to appoint the deputy governor [Miguel Pesce] to act as governor until the end of Redrado's term in September. That will preserve the institutional rules and will be a logical way to promote stability in the transition," he said.
