Rwanda launches mobile money scheme


The National Bank of Rwanda (NBR) has granted a license to MTN, an African telecommunications company, to trial the operation of a mobile money transfer system in the country beginning next week.

A spokesperson for MTN told Centralbanking.com: "MTN has just received a license from the National Bank of Rwanda and intends to start the pilot next week.
