Ex-Fed’s Stern joins Finra board

Gary Stern, the recently-retired president of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve and a vociferous critic of banks becoming too big to fail, is to sit on the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's (Finra) board.

Finra, an independent regulator for securities firms operating in the United States, announced Stern's appointment on Thursday alongside that of John Schmidlin, a member of the New York Stock Exchange's board.
