Philippines cb ends of easing cycle

The Central Bank of the Philippines held its overnight deposit rate at 4% on Thursday.

In a strong signal that rates will remain on hold for some time, Amando Tetangco, the governor, added: "If there's no significant change in the outlook for both inflation and domestic demand, then there'd be no need to change either way."

Diwa Guinigundo, a deputy governor, added that the central bank has "done enough in terms of easing monetary policy" and that it will "keep rates steady for as long as necess
