Eurozone inflation negative for the first time

Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, said on Tuesday that annual inflation in the 16-country eurozone has turned negative for the first time.

Inflation is expected to be -0.1% in June, according to Eurostat’s flash estimate, which is based on early price information from member states and early information about  energy prices.Consumer prices in the eurozone were 0.1% lower in June than in the same month last year.

The indicator will make the task of the European Central Bank
