Botswana wants African Central Bank on home turf

Botswana will vigorously lobby for the African Central Bank to be established in its territory, said President Festus Mogae to journalists on Tuesday after attending the First Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union in Addis Ababa.

The president who arrived in Gaborone Tuesday said although other African countries expressed the same interest of having the bank, "we will lobby for that." Mogae told journalists that they have endorsed various amendments to the Constitutive Act
