Fukui: Zero-rate policy will become more effective

Bank of Japan governor Toshihiko Fukui told a meeting in Tokyo on Thursday 13 January that the zero-rate policy will become more effective as the economy extends a recovery.

``As the economy continues to recover and corporate profits keep improving, we expect the effect of the policy will intensify,'' he told the central bank's branch managers at a quarterly meeting in Tokyo on Thursday.
