Yam to receive degree of Doctor of Business

HONG KONG - Joseph Yam Chi-kwong, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, will receive the degree of Doctor of Business Administration, honoris causa.

Mr Yam started his civil service career as a statistician in 1971 after graduating from the University of Hong Kong with first-class honours, and became a government economist in 1976. He was appointed Deputy Secretary for Monetary Affairs in 1985 and Director of the Office of the Exchange Fund in 1991.
