Samoobrona candidate may join NBP board

According to Sunday 4 February's issue of Newsweek Polska, Andrzej Lepper, head of Self-Defence (Samoobrona), is looking forward to placing his candidate on the management board of the National Bank of Poland.

The newspaper reported that Lepper wants the central bank board to be joined by current Deputy Labour Minister Romuald Polinski.

Other Samoobrona politicians maintain that their party's coalition partner, Law and Justice (PiS), promised them that its candidate will receive the post in return
