Kenya can rise again, says central bank governor

The violence precipitated by elections late last year is a setback from which the Kenyan economy can recover, said Njuguna Ndung'u, the governor of the central bank.

In a thorough assessment of the economic impact of the political violence, Ndung'u said that recent events had knocked the country's confidence but that most Kenyans would agree that while the economy has been shaken it has not collapsed.
