Russian Fin Min: Inflation target will be hit

The Russian finance ministry has said it expects inflation to remain under its 12 per cent target for 2003.

Monthly consumer prices are expected to rise less than 1 per cent in April, allowing the government to keep 2003 inflation under an official target of 12 per cent, a Finance Ministry official said on Wednesday 16 April..

Monthly inflation was 1.1 per cent in March and 1.2 per cent last April.

"No more than 1 per cent," First Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Ulyukayev told
