Chile holds rates at 6.25%

Concern regarding the global outlook has prompted the Central Bank of Chile to leave rates unchanged in spite of concern over inflation.

The central bank's board kept its benchmark monetary policy interest rate at 6.25%, after last month's quarter-point rise, citing concern over the United States economy. However, the board would not rule out further rate hikes given the persistence of inflation.
