Regulators probe King speech leak

UK City regulators are investigating a sharp rise in futures trading a few hours ahead of Bank of England governor Mervyn King's speech to Bradford business leaders last week.

Rumours that Mr King would use a speech on the evening of 13 June to warn of three upside risks to the Bank's inflation target were picked up by traders earlier in the day, The Independent reported.
