Noyer-ECB policy offers best conditions for growth

Christian Noyer, governor of the Bank of France, said on Friday 9 January that the ECB would not give in to external pressure on its strategy and that current monetary conditions in the euro zone offered the best possibilities for growth.

"(We have) the best possible conditions, and that supports growth," Noyer, also a member of the ECB's policy-setting Governing Council, said on the French radio station BFM.

He also said price stability was very important for consumer confidence and consequently
