US, Europe need not follow same policies-Issing

EUROPE - European Central Bank board member Otmar Issing said on Apr 23 globalization did not mean the United States and Europe needed to follow the same policies.

Speaking to reporters after a speech on the globalization of financial markets at the National Bank of Belgium, Issing commented on U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill's assertion last week that policymakers when trying to fight a global economic slowdown were "all in this together."
