Germany's Steinbrueck backs ECB's independence
"The independence of the ECB and of the national central banks, as well as their overriding obligation to price stability, are guaranteed and must be respected by everyone," Steinbrueck said in a speech.
"It is for this reason that the euro will remain a stable currency in future," the minister added.
