Norman Chan to retire from HKMA

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced on Tuesday 12 Aprilthat Norman Chan, the Deputy Chief Executive responsible for reserves management and international affairs, will be departing from the HKMA some time in May.

The Financial Secretary, as the appointing authority, has with great reluctance accepted Mr Chan's resignation, the HKMA said in a press release.

Paying tribute to Mr Chan, the Chief Executive of the HKMA, Mr Joseph Yam, said that his departure would be a great loss to the HKMA.
