Euro's launch vital to debate in Sweden
SWEDEN - Goran Persson, Sweden's Social Democratic prime minister, believes the Scandinavian country could be a member of the single currency by 2005 if next January's introduction of euro notes and coins is a success.
"If it is a good start, then I think we will join," Mr Persson said in an interview published by FinansTidningen, the Swedish business newspaper, yesterday. "But if it is a start that stumbles and is a bit troublesome then I think most people will wait and see," he said. The
