Dominica expert wants inspection of offshore banks

A former US state bank examiner has suggested the Dominica government should act more decisively to put the offshore banking sector on a better footing, in the face of the country's blacklisting as non-cooperative in the international fight against money laundering.

The examiner, Dominican Louis Robinson, said the effective implementation of regulations and supervision of offshore banks should be a priority to the government, to safeguard the integrity of the financial services sector.
