Bank of Ghana staff strike

Staff at the Bank of Ghana went on strike Thursday in protest over the dismissal of two colleagues. Protestors claim that two officers were dismissed because they had suggested a union could speak for staff at the central bank and negotiate wage settlements.

According to local media reports the strike, which began on Monday, has severely affected the central bank's operations, though the central bank has said contingency operations have been put in place. The governor was reported to be meeting
