Takenaka says Japan 'no longer in post-bubble era'

Japan's economic and fiscal policy minister Heizo Takenaka said the world's second largest economy is "no longer in the post-bubble era," the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported.

Takenaka said in a policy speech before both houses of the Diet he will shift gears in economic policy and pursue "aggressive reform" meant to lay a foundation for future growth, rather than carry on "defensive reform" to eradicate the adverse effects of the asset-inflated bubble economy of the late 1980s.
