BOJ to start releasing data on stock buying policy

The Bank of Japan said on Tuesday it will begin periodically releasing data on its purchases of shares from banks, a move that could indicate the effectiveness of its efforts to stabilise the financial system. The Bank began its unprecedented policy on Friday.

The central bank, which began buying shares from banks last week to help prevent stock market volatility and banks' capital erosion feeding on each other, said it would publish the figures in its financial statement published every 10 days
