Commenting on the unanimous vote in the Committee of Economic and Monetary Affairs to approve the nomination of Gertrude Tumpel-Gugerell as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, Committee Chair Christa RANDZIO-PLATH (PES/Germany) said that the objectives and criteria set by the Committee had been fulfilled:
