EU's Almunia says strong euro not posing problems

EU economic and monetary affairs commissioner Joaquin Almunia told a breakfast briefing held by the European Policy Centre think tank that the strength of the euro is not posing problems for Eurozone countries.

"I don't think the euro is creating problems for member states who belong to the euro area," Almunia said at a breakfast briefing held by the European Policy Centre think tank.

"I think the euro is a success. It's a very strong currency," he said.
