Central Bank of Russia boosts assets 24%

The Central Bank of Russia boosted assets 23.8% in the first ten months of 2002 from 1.713 trillion to 2.120 trillion rubles, including a rise of 2.8% in October, the Central Bank balance sheet shows.

Central Bank loans to banks dropped in October from 10.611 billion to 3.118 billion rubles. Loans for servicing foreign debt increased by 651 million rubles from 196.142 billion to 196.793 billion rubles.

Central Bank overall investment in securities in October rose by 7.012 billion rubles, from 365
