Fukui says no need to change BOJ view on prices

Bank of Japan Governor Toshihiko Fukui said on Friday 8 September he saw no need to change the central bank's view on price trends in the wake of downward revisions to consumer price data.

"As the economy continues to expand gradually, aggregate demand is exceeding supply. In such an environment, consumer prices are expected to be on a positive trend even under the new calculation method," Fukui told a news conference.
