BoJ likely to lower price forecast says Mizuno

Bank of Japan board member Atsushi Mizuno said that the central bank will probably drop its October forecast that consumer prices will have an increase next fiscal year for the first time in eight years.

``We must assume the forecast will be lowered,'' Mizuno said in an interview in Tokyo. ``We are seeing unexpected special factors for consumer prices.''

In the interview, Mizuno said the bank should maintain its key test for any policy change -- a stable increase in core prices.
