BoJ's Fukui sees economy recovering

Bank of Japan governor Toshihiko Fukui said on Thursday 21 April that the world's second-largest economy remained on a recovery track in spite of cautious business sentiment.

"The Japanese economy is still on a recovery trend although adjustments in the information technology sector continue," he told a regular meeting of branch managers of the central bank.

"While business sentiment appears to be slightly cautious due to inventory adjustments in the IT sector, production has steadied," he said
