Japanese Tankan report shows signs of improvement

There are further signs of economic recovery in Japan, with a key measure of Japanese business confidence at its highest level in seven years.

After years in an economic slump, the world's second-largest economy is showing signs of a sustainable recovery.

The closely watched Tankan survey reveals broad improvements in business sentiment.

The confidence of large manufacturing companies is at its highest level since 1997, and service companies are optimistic for the first time in seven years.
