Romania's Isarescu says inflation to reach 7.5%

The governor of Romania's central bank Mugur Isarescu said on TV that inflation might reach 7.5 per cent this year, instead of the 6 per cent that was expected initially, but he assured his audience that inflation will continue to fall.

The central bank has been monitoring price stability, in order to avert a rise in inflation, Isarescu added. Under the bank's estimates, 80-90 per cent of the prices were rounded down, even before the denomination of the Romanian leu currency, said Isarescu.
