Gaddafi calls for African central bank

The Libyan "Leader of the Revolution" Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has called for the establishment of an African Central Bank.

He made the call during an address to the extraordinary General Assembly of African Central Banks Society taking place in Tripoli.

He told the meeting that the world has changed dramatically and today the world map is a map of larger blocs. The nation state is declining as it has failed to counter the challenges of the era, globalisation and intense competition.
