Hungary ctrl bk nominee-dangers of cap mkt opening

Hungarian central bank council member nominee Gabor Oblath warned Feb 27, 2001 of the dangers of the planned liberalization of Hungary's capital markets. He was speaking after a hearing of the Parliament's budgetary committee, which approved his nomination.

"We must be very careful in liberalizing the capital accounts until Hungary's accession to the European Union; we can liberalize, but the dangers won't go away until we're members" of the European Union, Oblath said.
