Monetary policies working well for Canada: Dodge

Bank of Canada chief David Dodge said Wednesday 30 April that the Canadian dollars independence from the US has allowed it to rise in recent months, on the back of a strong economy, while the US has suffered sluggish growth.

Having a currency independent of the United States greenback has been "tremendously" helpful for the economy in recent months, as the loonie has soared while the American dollar has sagged, David Dodge said Wednesday.
