Bank of England holds rates at 5.75%

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted on Thursday to keep its benchmark bank rate at 5.75%.

Though the decision was widely expected, some economists had thought the Bank would cut rates amid mounting concern that UK growth would soon falter.
