Fraga urges candidates to clarify intentions

BRAZIL - Arminio Fraga, Brazil's central bank chief, on Wednesday called on the two remaining presidential candidates to deepen their commitment to sound economic policies and help calm investor concerns.

His comments came after financial markets were again battered on Wednesday amid uncertainty over the outcome of the 27 October election, and the ability of the central bank to roll over $3.67bn (£2.36bn) in dollar-linked domestic debt in coming days.
