Tanigaki says govt, BOJ share same view on economy

Japan's Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki said on Friday 15 July that the economy is extending a recovery as rising corporate profits buoy consumer spending.

"I agree with Mr Fukui's view on the current condition of the Japanese economy," Tanigaki told reporters, when asked about Fukui's remark on Wednesday in which he used the strongest wording yet to express confidence in the nation's economic recovery.

``Corporate profits remain high, and consumer spending is benefiting from that,'' Tanigaki
