Balcerowicz best for top central bank post

Poland's liberal former finance minister Leszek Balcerowicz would be the best candidate to replace Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the outgoing central bank governor, Poland's deputy premier told the best-selling Gazeta Wyborcza daily on Thursday. Under Polish law her replacement will be chosen by president Aleksander Kwasniewski and has to be approved by the country's highly fractured, right-leaning parliament.
