Bank of Japan governor Masaru Hayami met Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji and the two countries expressed their wish for enhanced economic and trade cooperation, a BOJ official said. This marks the first time the head of Japan's central bank had met the Chinese premier on a bilateral level, he said.
