Obama praises Bernanke

Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, has commended Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, for his response to the recent economic upheaval.

Obama told Reuters, a news service, on Saturday that Bernanke had been "handed a pretty tough hand" and that "some of the decisions he's made have been the right ones."
