Russia piles on pressure for Tosovsky

Aleksei Mozhin, Russia's executive director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reiterated his country's support for Josef Tosovsky to head the organisation.

In an interview with the Financial Times newspaper, Mozhin said: "If you want to make the IMF relevant to the needs of developing countries we must select the best candidate."

"We strongly believe that Mr Tosovsky is the best candidate with the most relevant experience."
