EU's Juncker supports US comments on deficit

Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said in a television interview Wednesday that U.S. pledges to reduce its budget deficit are a step in the right direction.

"I will not make a definitive judgement on the American intentions which have just been announced but it goes in the direction," Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, whose country holds the European Union's rotating presidency, told France's LCI television in an interview on Wednesday.
